He is the only currently living descendant of a long line of Metropolis Luthors. The Luthor fortune and empire has been made and lost several times over the generations, but Lex has nearly single-handedly made it what it is today. With interests and contacts spanning almost every inch of the globe in corporations, governments, not-for-profits, and secret organizations, Lex Luthor is one of the most powerful men on the planet. Born to Metropolis mogul Lionel Luthor and his socialite wife Letitia, Lex was born with the proverbial platinum spoon. He was a precocious and spoiled child and as he grew, so did his cockiness when it came to his intelligence. In his late teens, he spent time in Smallville, Kansas, under the care of his Aunt Lena, where his parents had hoped that he would learn a bit of humility and grace. This is where he met, and developed a friendship with Clark Kent. After his stint in Smallville he traveled extensively as well as attended an Ivy League University, though he did not stay long enough to graduate, citing that being more intelligent than his professors didn't bode well for his need to have a degree from there institution. He finally settled in Metropolis and took over Luthorcorp after his parents' mysterious deaths. Lex has since turned the company into a multi-national corporation that has ultimately come to dominate the city of Metropolis. Lex has goals for the company to extend that dominance to other cities and, ultimately the globe. Lex is often seen as a bit of a womanizer and has been married several times (the exact number of times is known only to Lex, but is generally thought to be at least 5). Most recently Lex has begun his campaign to be the next Mayor of Metropolis. There is another side to Lex Luthor, one which most of the population is not aware. This is the Mafioso, power hungry, paranoid, evil schemer side. This Lex funds organized crime, sells weapons and secrets on the black market, lies, cheats, kills and corrupts. This Lex also actively search for way to bring down and/or kill the Man of Steel and sees it as his personal mission in life. Most recently, in this Lex, in the Guise of Mockingbird, has begun to gather and organize the super criminals of the world into an organization to be known as the Injustice League. It's intent is to be a direct opposition to the heroes, Justice League. Things have become a bit more difficult, however with the arrival of Superman and his ever watchful alien eyes. Lex has to be very careful in his more underhanded and less lawful schemes or else he risks the man of steel exposing him and potentially bringing his empire crashing down around him. That simply would not do. Canon Puncturable: No Special Abilities/Skills: (this all applies to him in his 'normal' world. some of these might not apply now that he has found himself on this strange Earth.) Gifted Businessman: Lex Luthor is one of the most shrewd businessmen in the world, a trait that has earned him an immense fortune second only to entrepreneurs like Bruce Wayne and Steve Dayton. Unlike Wayne however, Luthor is not above using cuthroat tactics, unethical practices and illegal operations to maintain the success of his business empire. Seasoned Politician: Lex Luthor's corporate skills apply just as sharply in the political arena as they do in the boardroom. He knows the intricacies of bureaucratic politicking as well as any other former Chief Executive. Super-Genius level intelligence: Lex is one of the smartest, if not THE smartest, human beings on the planet and he is not afraid to use his brain to get what he wants or needs. Enhanced physical and cognitive abilities Luthor possesses a genius level intellect, his scientific prowess is in the upper stratosphere. Trained Combatant: Lex Luthor is also trained in hand-to-hand combat, though his personal Amazon fighting instructors consider him a a sub-par combatant with poor form. Connections - Lex is a very well connected man, be it for legitimate or less than above board needs, this Luthor has a number to dial.
